Community Gardens and Greenspace Field Staff

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy has a full time opening in its Community Gardens/Greenspace department for a Field Staff position, based in Pittsburgh. Supports field work at community gardens and greening projects throughout the region. Collects data and other information to document and monitor projects; leads volunteer groups in a variety of landscaping and community greening activities during spring, summer, and fall. Candidates must have training or equivalent of two years of experience in horticultural and / or landscaping techniques, good organizational skills, strong initiative, ability to work well with others and the ability to work well independently. Background and/or understanding of environmental revitalization and green infrastructure helpful. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including: long hours, evenings, and weekends as needed in all weather. Must be able to perform daily physical landscape labor, including occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Must have a valid driver’s license. Position provides excellent benefits and a competitive wage.

Membership Theater Host/Hostess
Mill Run, Pa.

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy has part time openings in its Fallingwater Membership Theater, located in Mill Run, PA. Gives a brief presentation to visitors at the conclusion of their tour of Fallingwater and invites them to become members and supporters of Fallingwater/Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Qualifications include being comfortable speaking in front of groups, having basic computer skills, previous experience handling cash, and accuracy and attention to detail. This position offers a competitive hourly rate. Successful applicants must be flexible with schedule and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
