Pittsburgh Redbud Project - Volunteer

The Pittsburgh Redbud Project will continue this fall with four planting events occurring throughout Pittsburgh. If you would like to join us in planting hundreds of redbud trees, please join us at the events listed below. We hope to see you at one of them!

  • Saturday, October 21 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – at the North Shore Riverfront Park
  • Saturday, November 4 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. – at Frank Curto Park
  • Saturday, November 11 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, Allegheny River
  • Saturday, November 18 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – in the West End

Lunch and all planting supplies will be provided. Please wear sturdy shoes and come dressed for the weather – we plant rain or shine!

Tree Sapling Giveaways
We are giving away free redbud tree saplings at each planting event. Look for our table at each meeting location to receive your free tree. Once you get home, you should plant your tree immediately. View tree seed and sapling instructions here.
