Meet Genny McIntyre
WPC’s First Vice President for Institutional Advancement
Western Pennsylvania Conservancy recently named Genny McIntyre as the organization’s first vice president of institutional advancement.
“Genny brings exceptional talents and an impressive record of achievement in institutional advancement to the Conservancy, extending from major gift and alumni fund-raising to media relations, marketing, advertising, web presence and publications,” said WPC President and Chief Executive Officer Dennis McGrath. “Genny was selected after a rigorous and highly competitive search process. A committee composed of members of our board and senior staff led that search effort. All of us who have met and interviewed Genny were impressed at her professional and personal acumen, energy, collegiality and clear commitment to the mission of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Those qualities will serve her very well as she works to secure the resources to drive support for WPC.”
Genny leaves a distinguished career at West Liberty State College in West Virginia where she worked for more than 11 years. As vice president for institutional advancement, McIntyre led the college’s first-ever capital campaign and managed the College Relations and Marketing department.
"I am pleased and honored to be joining the Conservancy,” McIntyre said. “I was attracted to the position because of the incredible people affiliated with the organization and the respect that it has earned in our region and beyond. The Conservancy has a very clear focus on its vital conservation mission and a defined vision for the future. It will be exciting to be part of the team that will make that vision a reality.”
Genny will be based at WPC’s headquarters in Pittsburgh.
