The Spring 2009 Season Begins at Fallingwater

Each March, Fallingwater opens its doors, inviting visitors from near and far to experience Frank Lloyd Wright’s magnificent house for themselves. The Fallingwater staff is now preparing for another eventful season, which begins March 16, and features exhibitions and lectures as well as expanded tour options.

"Fallingwater provides an escape from the everyday world. It is an extraordinarily powerful place like no other. Here people can experience for themselves the serenity and genius of great architecture intimately connected to nature," said Lynda Waggoner, vice president of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and director of Fallingwater.

From opening day through Thanksgiving weekend, daily guided tours will be available Monday and Tuesday, as well as Thursday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. In-Depth tours are available every day that Fallingwater is open at 8:30 a.m. and again at 4:30 p.m., through mid-October. The In-Depth tour offers a detailed view of the house and permits photography as well as access to areas not available on the regular tour.

The Sunset tour, which is offered on Saturdays during the summer at 4:30 p.m., provides an extended tour of the house followed by light refreshments on the terrace. Other special tours, such as the Focus Tour and the Sunday Brunch Tour, are available at selected times throughout the year.

Visitors to Fallingwater also may register to attend lectures led by senior staff members:
