WPC Protects Land in Clinton County

Stream running through the forestThe Conservancy acquired 466 acres in Clinton County, permanently protecting property along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The parcel provides a connection from Bucktail State Park Natural Area to the river and will shortly be added to the natural area.

Planting Effort Reaches Initial Goal

Riparian tree plantingWPC’s Watershed Conservation Program celebrated the planting of 20,000 saplings in riparian zones, the land adjacent to creeks and streams. To date, this project has improved more than 6 miles of creek-side public and private land in 17 watersheds throughout Western Pennsylvania.

Community Garden Planting Begins

Community garden with WPC signThe Conservancy’s first community garden planting will happen on May 1, launching a season in which volunteers and staff will plant flowers in 130 gardens in 20 counties in Western Pennsylvania.
