WPC Removes Savan Dam on Little Mahoning Creek

Our Watershed Conservation group removed this 72 year-old, 100-foot dam in order to allow fish and other aquatic species passage to the upstream reaches of the stream. Read more about this project and view a slideshow of the demolition.

Fourteen WPC Gardens Awarded in 2010

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society recognized 14 WPC Community Gardens as among the best in the state with its 2010 Community Greening Awards.

WPC Seeks Proposals for Watershed Mini Grants

WPC and Dominion are now accepting proposals for the 2010-2011 Watershed Mini Grant program. The grants are a great way for your organization to get funding for operating costs, organizational promotion and outreach, and/or watershed restoration projects.

WPC Sells Historic Burke Building and Protects its Façade

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation (PHLF) recently announced that WPC has sold the Burke Building on Fourth Avenue, the oldest office building in downtown Pittsburgh, and donated a preservation easement on the building to PHLF.
