WPC Gardens and Greenspace Program holds Appreciation Luncheon

The Conservancy held a celebration on August 19 to thank sponsors, partners and volunteers who lend a hand with its community greening work throughout the region. The luncheon event took place at the Hartwood Acres mansion grounds.

Speakers for the event included KDKA-TV reporter Mary Robb Jackson, who said, "I have been a fan of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy for as long as I can remember-ever since I saw the first beautiful garden along the road on the Parkway West. You were green before green was fashionable."

In 2010, Community Gardens and Greenspace program volunteers donated a total of 51,807 hours of service. The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy extends gratitude to its faithful volunteers, who help make our region a greener place.
