Fallingwater's New Amphitheatre
Scott Perkins

The amphitheater is located on the hillside just above the Barn at Fallingwater. The space is frequently used for outdoor weddings and ceremonies, providing a unique woodland setting. However, the stage platform, exposed to the elements, was decaying and the pathway to it suffered from water runoff issues, making for a muddy entrance and exit for celebrants. Fallingwater’s 2015 landscape interns, Hakeem and Nathan, transformed this space by designing and constructing a new stage and adding a flagstone path to assist with water drainage at the edge of the platform. After 10 days of construction, the job was complete!
