Moraine State Park
1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Join the Conservancy for a guided hike!
Moraine State Park is geologically fascinating. This part of Pennsylvania was once covered by massive, mile-thick sheets of ice that formed its landscape. Join us on a hike led by Conservancy scientists at Moraine State Park in Butler County, one of the 10 state parks that WPC helped to establish. You’ll learn how the continental glaciation of 20,000 years ago has influenced the region and its specialized landscape. You’ll also hear more about the creation of the state park.
Please register for this event by clicking the button below or by calling 412-586-2340 by Thursday, Oct. 18. Registration is $5.00 per person for WPC members and guests, free for children under 12. Directions will be sent upon registration. Light snacks will be provided. Consider packing your own picnic to enjoy before or after the hike. This outing is a moderately strenuous three-hour hike along an established trail. All ages are invited.
