Join us on a morning hike to learn about the Conservancy’s 1,465-acre Bennett Branch Forest, which has acreage in Elk and Clearfield counties. This member hike will begin at 10 a.m. at our parking lot and follow a newly improved three-mile trail that winds through a mixed northern hardwood forest dominated by oaks and sugar maples. Learn about the Conservancy’s work to sustainably manage the forest, reduce the impact of past mining activities on Cherry Run, which cuts through the property, and other restoration efforts.
Please note that the first ½ mile of the trail is very steep before leveling off for the remainder of the hike. Sturdy footwear is advised. Light snacks and water will be provided; however, please bring a reusable water bottle, if possible.
