Our Shared Legacy Campaign Update
The outpouring of support to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy since the start of the Our Shared Legacy campaign in December 2010 has made possible some historic accomplishments in the region. WPC has conserved more than 30 special properties and restored and protected large stretches of stream. We have planted thousands of new trees in greater Pittsburgh as well as along creeks and streams and in forests in rural parts of Western Pennsylvania. Important preservation projects are underway at Fallingwater, such as replacing window glass; we have made Fallingwater more accessible for all visitors and we have expanded Fallingwater’s educational programs for people of all ages. In addition, with your help, we have secured “forever” endowments and annual sponsorships for some of our 135 community gardens.
Every WPC member and donor has had a hand in these successes. To date, we have raised more than $30 million toward our $40 million goal for the Our Shared Legacy comprehensive campaign. As we press ahead toward our overall goals of ensuring that Western Pennsylvania’s special places are conserved for all of us to enjoy long into the future, we hope that you will continue to support these efforts.
You can help in a number of ways, such as:
- Making a gift to support our overall work
- Designating your gift for a special project. We’ll be glad to help you find the giving opportunity that speaks to your interests.
- Letting us know if the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy is already in your estate plans or if you would consider including it — such as through a will, or as a beneficiary of an IRA, life insurance policy or retirement plan.
