Volunteer Policy Stewards:
Become a Strong Voice for Conservation!

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy will host a luncheon on Friday, April 6, from noon to approximately 1 p.m., to gauge interest in a new volunteer program being developedthe Volunteer Policy Stewards.

We are hoping to train a team of committed individuals to act on policy and advocacy issues at all levels of government. This will be an opportunity to become actively involved beyond responding to action alerts or announcements. The ultimate goal is to create a highly-functional team with advanced training and broad geographic representation that can accompany staff on visits with elected officials or act on their own
when mobilized.

This will be an ideal volunteer opportunity if your personal interest in conservation includes scheduling flexibility, excellent written and verbal communications skills, comfort when speaking to groups of people or elected officials, confidence, an interest in regional conservation issues, and most important of all, having a demonstrated ability to follow- through.

The lunch will be held at WPCs downtown Pittsburgh headquarters at 209 Fourth Avenue. Space is limited, so please sign-up early. Please RSVP by March 30 to Brian Gallagher via email bgallagher@paconserve.org or phone 412-586-2380 (toll free 1-866-564-6972).
