Fallingwater stands as a testament to one man’s genius, one family’s generosity and one place’s ability to symbolize how people may live in harmony with nature. However, as “art left out in the rain,” it needs support from many people to preserve the house and its priceless collections.
Preserving Fallingwater’s collections, including the furniture, textiles and 950 objects of fine and decorative art, costs about $50,000 every year. While admissions pay for the daily operating expenses at Fallingwater, they don’t fund preservation or education. To cover these expenses, Fallingwater relies on private support from donors who care about its future.
Through the Our Shared Legacy Comprehensive Campaign, the Conservancy aims to raise $5.3 million in commitments to ensure Fallingwater’s future. To date, donors have committed nearly $3 million.
Donors have the chance to double the impact of their gifts for Fallingwater by participating in the Fallingwater Challenge. The Fallingwater Advisory Committee will match all gifts for Fallingwater dollar-for-dollar. That means a $25 donation becomes $50, a $100 donation becomes $200 and so on.
