Fallingwater’s Director Receives Life Spirit Award

Lynda Waggoner, vice president of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and director of Fallingwater, received the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy’s Wright Spirit Award in the special honors category.

The award, which “honors individuals and organizations whose work represents a unique contribution to the preservation of the legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright,” was presented this past October during the group’s 2007 conference in Chicago.

Waggoner is regarded as one of the nation’s foremost authorities on Fallingwater and is the author of Fallingwater: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Romance with Nature. She is a past president of the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy and past vice
president of the Greater Pittsburgh Museum Council, Preservation Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Federation of Museums. In 2004, the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Institute of Architects awarded her its Gold Medal.
