Give a Holiday Gift with Meaning

Snowy forest

This holiday season, we hope you will consider one of our “wishes” below for a special gift. You can even make your gift in honor of a loved one who also cares about our region.

Here are a few examples of the work that you could help to accomplish through a special holiday gift.

  • • Keeping Fallingwater Open to the World $1,500 provides a named scholarship for a student’s summer residency internship. $500 gives 20 area schoolchildren the opportunity to experience Fallingwater through its onsite educational program.
  •

  • • Protecting Our Water $2,000 can install a stream crossing on a farm for livestock. $600 would plant as many as 50 trees along streams to curb erosion.
  •

  • • Protecting Nature Through Science $1,350 funds three days of a WPC scientist’s field work, documenting rare species such as the golden-winged warbler, mountain chorus frog or eastern hellbender salamander.
  •

  • • Caring for and Protecting Land $2,000 helps to protect up to an acre of a Western Pennsylvania property by funding surveying, staffing and other costs. Gifts can help build the legal defense fund that ensures the Conservancy can uphold conservation easement standards on its protected properties, and meet national accreditation standards.
  •

  • • Bringing Nature to Communities $1,000 purchases six street trees for a Pittsburgh-area neighborhood. $500 funds two days of Scientists in Schools programming that introduces school children to natural science.

You can make your gift over the phone (1-866-564-6972), via check sent in the envelope found in the magazine, through our website (WaterLandLife.org/Legacy).

You may also make a gift of appreciated stock as a tax-advantaged way to support our work. Call us for transfer information or visit WaterLandLife.org/138 for details.
