Volunteer with WPC as we put our community flower garden at South Braddock Avenue in Edgewood to bed for the winter.
During Project Fall Clean-up, volunteers remove annual (one-season lifespan) plant material, landscape plastic and debris from garden beds. This debris is collected in biodegradable compost bags or garbage bags for recycling or disposal. The garden is raked to make it uniform and orderly until the spring planting in 2022.
More Opportunities to Volunteer
We have 130 community gardens located in prominent public places within neighborhoods throughout Allegheny County and in cities and towns across the region. Examples include: Downtown Pittsburgh, Oakland, Squirrel Hill, South Side, North Side, Highland Park, East Liberty, Mount Washington, Bloomfield, North Hills, Carnegie and Scott Township
If you enjoy this project, we invite you back for the plantings in May 2022! If you have questions or want more information about volunteer opportunities, contact Lynn McGuire-Olzak, volunteer coordinator, at 412-586-2324 or at email@example.com.
