Volunteer at a Community Garden

Can we count on you or your group to help at one of our 130 community gardens? Be part of thousands of volunteers who help beautify our region! You’ll find our gardens at schools, in neighborhoods, along highways, in business districts, at bridges and other regional landmarks in 20 counties throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Individuals, families, community groups and corporate volunteers of all ages and skill levels are all welcome. Everyone can improve the local natural landscape!
- In the spring, help plant flowers in prepared flower beds.
- During summer, help weed the beds and do other maintenance.
- In the fall, help put our gardens to bed in preparation for winter weather.
- Or, become a dedicated garden steward. Provide weekly maintenance and keep a garden looking beautiful through the growing season. Stewards are needed year round.
We plant our gardens rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather, and wear close-toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops). Be ready to get a little messy and have some fun.
