Our History

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy was founded in 1932 and has the distinction of being Pennsylvania’s first conservancy. Since then, we have been devoted to conserving and restoring Pennsylvania’s land, water and wildlife habitats, creating greener environments in our communities and preserving Fallingwater, one of the world’s architectural masterpieces. We build on more than 80 years of sound fiscal management and implementation of projects of lasting impact in the region.

Our Present

These significant outcomes would not be possible without an inclusive and diverse staff. Our employees include scientists, land protection managers and watershed specialists; museum guides, curators and educators; arborists, urban landscape designers and community builders; and finance, administration, fundraising and communications professionals.

Your Future

Working at the Conservancy will offer a flexible, inclusive environment, working with committed, talented, collaborative professionals in beautiful locations. Our compensation is very competitive and we offer excellent fringe benefits. As an employee of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, you know your work is vital and contributes to making Pennsylvania a better place.
