Deer Creek Nature Reserve contributes to the forested viewshed from the nearby commercial area and transportation hub (including the PA Turnpike and SR 28). The preserve provides access to Deer Creek, a stocked trout water.

Directions
The preserve is near the intersection of PA-910 (Indianola Rd.) and Locust Hill Rd., Harmar Township. There is a public access right-of-way for parking off PA-910 (next to the Oakmont Water Authority pump station), and another access right-of-way for foot-traffic along Deer Creek.
Visitor Tips
There are no designated trails. Old access paths and active utility rights-of-way cross the preserve.
Visitor Guidelines
When visiting Deer Creek Nature Reserve, please remember:
- Only foot traffic is permitted.
- Camping and campfires are prohibited.
- Vehicles, including ATVs and bicycles, are prohibited.
- Hunting is permitted except on Sundays. Temporary tree stands are permitted but must be removed at the end of deer season.
- Collecting (animals, plants, rocks, etc.) without permission is prohibited.
- If you carry it in, carry it out.
