WPC Preserves

Love birding, hiking or fishing? The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy welcomes you to explore nearly 14,000 acres of forests, streams, wetlands, open meadows and more in 16 counties.

The 13 preserves highlighted below are open to the public, free of charge, and are suited for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy walking, hiking, camping, nature exploring, fishing, birding and more. We maintain 30 miles of trails on our preserves, located near cities and towns as well as in rural areas.

Most of these family friendly preserves, which we own and manage, have informational signage about the designated trails. Parking and trailheads are accessible from local roadways.Google maps for each preserve are available for you to find your way to enjoy nature.
