Fall Member hike at Cook Forest State Park

October 15, 2023 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Location

Cook Forest State Park

Cook Forest State Park in northwestern Pennsylvania is a beautiful and rare place. This 8,500-acre park contains 13 miles of scenic shoreline along the Clarion River and a magnificent old-growth forest, with trees among the tallest and oldest of their species in the eastern United States.

Join WPC naturalists as they share the history and ecology of the forest, and WPC’s conservation efforts to protect this region. Then embark on a moderately challenging hike* to the stunning Forest Cathedral Natural Area, a National Natural Landmark.

Hike registration has reached full capacity. Please contact Nicole at nwalsh@paconserve.org to be added to the waitlist.

* This hike involves steep and hilly trails. If there is interest we will offer a shorter hike option that follows a stream in the park. Contact Nicole directly to find out more.
